The international curriculum will focus on delivering the six core subjects; English, Math, PSPE, Science, Social Studies and Arts through English as the language of instruction. Our in-class English literacy curriculums will adopt international scopes and sequences. They will be supported by English as an Additional Language (EAL) teachers to provide assistance for those students who might be struggling with their in-class activities. Likewise, there will be Chinese as a Second Language (CSL) teachers to support those students whose first language is not Chinese. Additionally, our K-12 curriculum will include art and crafts, music, dance and theatre, PSPE, lib.
With so many superb facilities there will an abundance of extra-curricular activities such as sports teams, creative arts clubs, academic enhancement clubs and others. The culmination of these learning opportunities should assist us in providing a holistic learning environment for our students.
At BIBS Weihai we aim to develop a K-12 school where love, caring and support flourish and the best practices from Asia are blended with the best practices from the West.
Therefore, our goal is the attainment of a fully integrated K-12 curriculum. Hence our desire to become an accredited IB world school authorized to offer their Early Years Programme (EYP), Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). These International Baccalaureate (IB) frameworks provide us with a number of opportunities for integrating our learning experiences through the use appropriately themed units of inquiry in the PYP and the PYP Exhibition. In the MYP they complete a community project and a personal project, and in the DP they study Theory of Knowledge, Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) and complete an Extended Essay. Similarly, they provide opportunities for our students to demonstrate their ability to use their attained academic knowledge in a practical real-life setting.

To create a truly international bilingual experience for our students it is important that we establish an international community of learners. To this end, there will be students, teachers, non-academic staff, leadership and parents from around the globe within our school community. All members of our school community are encouraged to participate in the life of the school by sharing their knowledge and experiences with each other for the betterment of all our school’s stakeholders.
Student, teacher and parent representatives, which we refer to as our ‘golden triangle’ will communicate with each other and the school’s leadership on a regular basis as we strive to create a learning environment that meets the needs of our whole school community.
